AN 88-YEAR-OLD woman has been fined for speeding on a Bradford district road.

Olma Wright, of Bradford Old Road, Cottingley, Bingley, faced one charge of speeding after being caught by an automatic camera device exceeding 30 miles per hour soeed limit.

Wright was clocked at 37mph in a 30mph zone of Valley Road, at its junction with Argyle Street, Shipley, on June 16, 2022.

She was handed three driving licence points, fined £40 and ordered to pay £90 costs and a £32 victim surcharge for the offence, which was contrary to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988. A collection order was made by the court.

Wright pleaded guilty and was sentenced in a single justice procedure hearing held at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on December 21, 2022.
