A LOCAL branch of Greggs remains temporarily closed after a fire at its premises four weeks ago.
The bakery chain’s store in Heckmondwike looks set to reopen shortly, but they were unable to provide further details on a date for its doors to be open once more.
In the meantime, customers can get their hands on the company’s steak bakes and sausage rolls at its nearest branches in Liversedge, Cleckheaton and Brighouse.
A Greggs spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a fire occurred at our Market Street, Heckmondwike shop last month.
“All our colleagues are safe and have been deployed to other shops in the area.
“The shop is currently closed but we hope to be back up and trading soon.”
At the time, the Telegraph & Argus reported that fire crews were called to Market Street shortly after 8pm on December 13.
The fire was said to have taken hold of the ground and first floor in a shop building.
