A MAN has appeared in court for using threatening behaviour in Bradford.

Prince Nkurunziza, 19, of Rawmarsh Hill, Rotherham, was handed a community order for three charges.

He was sentenced for a charge of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress.

This offence took place at Foodware House, Manningham Lane, Bradford, on February 27, 2021. Nkurunziza, with intent to cause another person harassment, alarm or distress, used threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour, thereby causing that person or another harassment, alarm or distress.

Nkurunziza was also urged to pay £620 costs and a £95 victim surcharge for this offence.

A collection order was made by the court and deductions will be made from his benefits.

He pleaded not guilty to this charge, but was found guilty at a hearing in February 2022.

Nkurunziza was also sentenced under the community order for two charges of failing to surrender to police/court bail at the appointed time. These offences took place on March 2 and 14, 2022.

The community order given to Nkurunziza also includes him being ordered to carry out 80 hours unpaid work in the community.

Nkurunziza was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on December 29, 2022.
