LATEST NEWS: Plants at cannabis farm were just being cropped ready to sell when police arrived

POLICE have busted a cannabis farm, breaking down the door of a house on a "quiet street".

West Yorkshire Police rushed to a property in Hollybank Gardens, Bradford just before 5.30pm on Friday after receiving intelligence from the community regarding a potential cannabis grow.

Officers took the terraced house's door off its hinges and discovered approximately 100 plants within the building.

Northern Power Grid also attended to ensure the electrics were safe.

Police put a scene in place and two force cars, as well as multiple officers, remained there today.

The Telegraph & Argus visited the scene just after 2pm today and saw police officers inside the building, focusing on the front room.

There were also two full black bin bags in view in the small entrance to the house, where the door had been removed.

A witness told The T&A that it is normally a "quiet street".

Police are continuing to investigate the cannabis farm and have issued an appeal for information.

A full statement from West Yorkshire Police this afternoon said: "Shortly before 5.30pm yesterday, officers attended a property on Hollybank Gardens after community intelligence was received regarding a potential cannabis grow.

"Officers attended and found approximately 100 plants in the property.

"A scene remains in place at the address and Northern Power attended to ensure the electrics were safe.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
