THE annual Epilepsy Action Bradford 10k will be back this year and there's an early bird discount for people who register within the next week.

Epilepsy Action is encouraging people to stay on track with their New Year’s fitness goal by signing up for the race.

On Sunday March 12, runners from West Yorkshire and beyond will hit the streets of Bradford hoping to cross the finish line with a new personal best.

The Epilepsy Action Bradford 10k began in 2008. Since then, runners have raised more than £600,000 for the charity, with over 15,000 runners crossing the finish line in Centenary Square.

The course record is held by Tesfaye Debele, who achieved a time of 31.02 minutes in 2013.

Louise McCormick, running events co-ordinator at Epilepsy Action, said: “We were overwhelmed by the support the race received last year.

"Despite two years of cancellations due to Covid, the people of Bradford came out in full support once again and helped to make the day such a success.

"We hope that this year’s race will be bigger and better than ever.”

“The money raised from each and every sign-up will help Epilepsy Action to be there for people affected by epilepsy when they need us most.”

A 10 per cent discount is available for anyone who registers before Sunday, January 15 using the code bradford2023.

For more information about the Epilepsy Action Bradford 10k or to sign up, visit epilepsy.org.uk/bradford or call the events team on 0113 210 8881. The closing date for entries is Wednesday, March 8, subject to availability.
