A STYLISH new tearoom is to open its doors in Bradford next month.
Eden's Tearoom and Patisserie, on Keighley Road, Heaton, is targeting a mid-February open date.
Saeqa Gazi-Hussain and her husband Nurul Hussain will run the tearoom, which will be open seven days a week from 8.30am to 8pm.
Saeqa said the new tearoom will benefit the area and they are aiming to create around 20 new jobs.
"It feels like we've been working on the refurbishment for a long time, said Saeqa.
"It was July when we received the keys to the building. We've had to gut it out as it was a former butcher's shop.
"We're in a small retail park opposite Bradford Grammar School next to Lister Park, so it's an ideal location.
"We've brought some life back into the building. We want the tearoom to be a second home for people.
"We've had an award-winning interior designer come in to plan the design.
"It's very spacious and can seat 34 people.
"We offer a range of things and we're hoping our afternoon tea will be really popular.
"It's such a British tradition."
Saeqa and Nurul are opening the new tearoom at a time when some businesses are struggling with rising costs but Saeqa said customers will be their focus.
She said: "It's a big risk that we're taking in the current climate but we want to make sure that customer service is at the forefront of everything that we do.
"We're aiming to recruit up to 20 full-time and part-time staff and we're hoping to grow a strong team."
The couple also has a lot of experience, as their online florist business has been serving the Bradford community for six years.
"We run our own luxury florist SKG.Eden online," said Saeqa. "We started this business to bring something new to Bradford.
"We're both from Bradford and this business has been successful for us.
"We've got a really big following on Instagram - 13,000 followers.
"We've got a lot of friends and clients who have been interested in our new tearoom.
She added: "We've worked really hard to build up the SKG.Eden brand and people recognise it, so we've gone with the Eden name.
"People did their part to help water the plant and this is a recognition of the two brands."
