A popular group of musicians who play traditional Indian dhol drums has won a coveted award.
Akoustix Drummers won the ‘Best Drummers & Entertainments Team’ at The Oracle Awards.
Now in its eighth year, the ceremony is a celebration of the UK’s business sector, recognising the nation’s best sole traders and charitable people.
The drummers, who are based in Bradford, have been bringing joy to people's weddings through upbeat tunes since 2012.
The group was chosen from a public vote on the finalists.
In a joint message, Akoustix Drummers said: “It felt a blessing that we've been nominated and we have been recognised for our work and talent throughout our journey with up and downs in Bradford and surroundings areas. Then actually winning the award for ‘Best Drummers & Entertainments Team’, the feeling was something else.
“Other drumming teams were also nominated to as well as us, when we received the award only thing that was in our heads is, ‘We wouldn't of been here without love and continued support from our supporters, family & friends’. This one’s for you guys.
“We love our work, sound and music we create at events. The atmosphere is epic, it’s so enjoyable - like they say if you don’t like the job you do, you’re in the wrong job.”
It follows previous accolades from The Oracle Awards.
