A WOMAN and her two daughters who have fled domestic violence have been given Christmas presents and food for their festive dinner after an appeal by a Bradford district pub.
The Old Glen House pub in Baildon was contacted to see if they could help a woman and her daughters, aged five and eight, who were in desperate need of presents and food ahead of Christmas Day.
The pub put out an appeal for gifts on its social media and said it was touched by the response from the public.
The post said: “We’ve been contacted and asked if we can help a lady that has just fled domestic violence.
“She’s not at a refuge but is in desperate need for food over the Christmas period and presents for her two daughters, aged five and eight.
“We are going to be putting a hamper together and some presents for her daughters. Thank you in advance.”
Louise Johnson, Old Glen House landlady, said: “Within a few hours we got everything this lady and her children will need for Christmas including presents and Christmas dinner.
“We collected all this in a few hours yesterday afternoon for a lady and her two children that have fled domestic violence and she had no money for presents for her daughters or food, we also have cash together.
“It really does restore your faith in human kindness.”
