A BRADFORD man is believed to have been killed in a horror crash on the M62 this morning.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed earlier today that a person had died and another was left with serious injuries in the crash, where a car flipped on its roof and erupted in fire.
The motorway has been closed since this morning.
The eastbound carriageway later opened but the westbound carriageway is still shut while investigations into the circumstances of the crash continue.
A full statement from West Yorkshire Police said: "Police are investigating a road traffic collision which took place on the M62 in the early hours of this morning which has resulted in the death of one person and the serious injury of another.
"The collision took place on the westbound carriageway, between junctions 22 and 23, at around 4.20am and involved one vehicle.
"The westbound M62 remains closed as enquiries take place to establish what happened.
"Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or the circumstances leading up to it, or may have dashcam footage, is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police by calling 101, or go online at https://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat quoting reference 143 of 21/12."
