CONSTRUCTION work on the region’s first drive-thru Greggs is continuing at pace – although an opening date had yet to be announced.
The bakery will be opening on the former site of the Cross Keys pub on Rooley Lane, and in recent days the chain’s distinctive blue branding has appeared on the building.
Plans for the new branch of the popular eatery were first approved late last year.
Before the once popular pub was demolished it had been vacant for some time, with the site beset by issues like fly tipping and anti-social behaviour.
Despite work on the building having progressed rapidly in recent weeks, it seems that the official opening of the drive thru may be some months away.
A Greggs spokesperson said: “Greggs is due to open a new drive-thru in Bradford next year.
“While we are unable to share any details at the moment, we will be sure to share further information in the coming months.”
The new Greggs is likely to create between 20 and 25 jobs.
One condition of the application is that electric vehicle charging points are installed in the business’ car park.
