WORK is underway on a new bank in Bradford city centre.
Santander is relocating its Bradford Darley Street branch to The Broadway.
Work on the branch has already started and is expected to be open to customers in the shopping centre in early March 2023.
The new branch will be located opposite the Superdry store and branded boards have been put up in front of the unit.
It says: “The Next Chapter. It starts here.
“We’ll be back in Bradford soon. We had to close our branch on Darley Street unexpectedly, but we’re looking forward to welcoming you to our new home in early 2023.”
Santander customers can make use of a courtesy bus service. The bus departs opposite The Midland Hotel on Cheapside and goes to the Shipley Santander branch.
The new Santander will be its permanent location in Bradford and will replace the existing branch on Darley Street following the identification of extensive structural issues at the site.
The Darley Street branch has been shut since April this year due to safety concerns.
Santander is the latest new addition to The Broadway. US sports retailer Lids opened up a store in September, while Skechers, Muffin Break and Jack & Jones also opened recently.
