THE fire service had to rescue a man trapped in a vehicle which had descended an embankment in a crash on a rural Bradford district road.
The crash, which happened at around 3.30am yesterday (Saturday), took place between Ilkley and Burley Woodhead on Moor Road near the junction of Stead Lane.
Appliances from Otley and Shipley fire stations were called at 3.42am.
A spokesperson from the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "It was a single-vehicle road traffic collision where the vehicle had left the road and gone down an embankment with one person trapped.
"The casualty was extricated by the fire service and left in the care of paramedics.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 3.30am yesterday (Saturday), officers found a vehicle which had left the road near to the junction of Moor Road and Stead Lane.
"Emergency services attended and the driver was taken to hospital with injuries that were found not to be serious."
