A SIX-FIGURE revamp of a garden centre in Bradford will begin next year.
The site in Wilsden Road, in Harden - formerly a Stephen H Smith garden centre - will undergo a £200,000 makeover in January 2023.
This is the first phase of the centre's revamp, with investment coming from the site's new owners, the Yorkshire Garden Centre (YGC) group - the parent company of Tong and Tingley Garden Centres.
The investment will go towards installing new plant benches, new roofs for the gardening and restaurant areas, and a refurbished giftware area and refreshed restaurant.
The YGC group - which is based in Bradford - acquired the Harden site earlier this year, alongside another Stephen H Smith garden centre in Otley.
Managing Director of the firm, Mark Farnsworth, said: "Improving the popular gardening areas is at the top of our priority list for phase one and we're looking forward to sharing the revamped areas with customers old and new in the spring.
"The centre will remain open with a full range of stock whilst the improvements take place."
Mr Farnsworth and Tom Megginson, both founders of the YGC group, bought Tong Garden Centre in 2015 and opened the £14m Tingley Garden Centre in September 2022.
Plans to develop the Stephen H. Smith's Otley site with a £500,000 investment in the gardening, restaurant and gift areas together with a new food hall were announced last month.
