A BRADFORD woman has been ordered to pay a hefty sum after she dodged a rail fare of £3.90 on her journey from Batley to Leeds.
Jemma White, 32, of Moor Lane, Birkenshaw, Bradford, got on the train at Batley on December 18, 2021, without having purchased a ticket or a promise to pay notice.
The defendant was issued with a Penalty Fare Notice for either £20 or twice the single fare, whichever is greater.
No payment or appeal was made, and a further reminder letter was sent.
A Collection Order was made and White was fined £220, compensation of £3.90, a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and costs of £150.
In total she has to pay £407.90, which must be paid by December 22, 2022.
