A TEENAGER took a knife into school and threatened a male with it.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to possessing an article with a blade or sharply pointed article on school premises and threatening a person with a blade or sharply pointed article on school premises.
He was sentenced to nine months in a youth offenders institution for the offences.
The youth turned up to Co-op Academy Grange, in Haycliffe Lane, Bradford, with a knife on September 21 last year.
He used the blade to threaten another male at the school on the same date.
Court records show that this was made in such a way that a reasonable person who was exposed to the same threat would think that there was an immediate risk of physical harm.
The court ordered that the knife be forfeited and destroyed, as part of the sentence.
The youth was also ordered to pay £107 in total to the courts.
This included a surcharge of £22 to fund victim services and £85 in costs.
His parent or guardian will pay £20 a month towards this from Boxing Day.
