A FORMER Bradford pub could be changed into two shop units after another planning application was submitted.
Back in August of last year, Mohammed Arfan was refused permission by Bradford Council to change the vacant Wellington Hotel on Thornton Road.
A planning officer said it would "detract from the appearance of the building that occupies a prominent position in the Thornton Conservation Area".
They added that it would be to the "detriment of its character and visual amenity".
However, earlier this month, Mr Arfan submitted another plan.
It's to turn the building into two shop units. One would be a deli and the other would be used for the sale of reconditioned commercial catering equipment.
The dining area of the pub would become the deli, with a new shopfront and entrance door, while the main public bar area would be used for the sale of catering equipment.
The first floor will remain unused.
The application says the two front windows would be changed to two large display windows, but this work would be carried out when the shop has shown to be successful.
Four parking spaces to the rear would be retained, the application adds.
