TWO Bradford district hospices have been given a festive boost by a power company.
Northern Powergrid, the company responsible for the electricity network in the district, is offering hospices a helping hand when it comes to vital fundraising this festive season.
The electricity network operator has donated hampers to 40 hospices across the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.
Both Sue Ryder Care in Keighley and Marie Curie Cancer Care in Bradford are two of those to benefit. The hampers are worth around £100 each and include sweets, treats and traditional festive goodies.
Michelle Cummings, Northern Powergrid’s social responsibility manager, said: “Many of our donated hampers will be used as part of hospice festive fundraising raffles and in previous years some have helped raise as much as £1,000.”
