A SCOTTISH man has been jailed for historic sexual offences against a teenager in Bradford.
Geoffrey Robinson, 63, of Annan was found guilty of attempted rape, sexual assault and threats to kill.
He was sentenced to 12 years in prison yesterday and will have to serve a minimum of eight years behind bars.
Detective Inspector Jodie Hayes, of Bradford’s District Safeguarding Unit, said: “Robinson has been given a significant sentence for his abhorrent crimes against a child.
“I welcome the sentence as it reflects the seriousness of his actions which happened decades ago.
“I would like to praise the bravery of the victim for coming forward and giving evidence through the trial.
"I hope this sentence can give the victim closure and justice.
“Bradford Safeguarding Unit take all reports of sexual offences whether recent of non-recent extremely seriously and with the upmost sensitivity and confidentiality.
"We will thoroughly investigate any reports and bring those responsible to justice.”
