CHRIS Roberts, of Bradford & Bingley Weatherline, brings us the latest of his regular weekend weather forecasts.

General

High pressure to our North West is blocking any milder air from reaching us, but low pressure is beginning to take over for our UK weather with the risk of light showers beginning to feature.

But there is nothing significant or even at all, affecting the region this weekend.

So, what does this bring us for the weekend?

Saturday

There is a risk of some light sleet or snow showers into the early morning leaving us with a cold and mainly cloudy day and little in the way of sunshine after some mist clears in the morning.

There is renewed potential for more mist and fog to develop in the evening as winds veer to the East but not all parts will be affected.

Temperatures from 0°C to 3°C at best in a light South to Easterly breeze.

In the evening it remains misty and cloudy with lows of O°C or -1°C, so not quite as cold as recent nights.

Sunday

Any overnight mist or fog will slowly clear and some bright/sunny intervals in the morning can be expected. But cloud will feature too from time to time and it should stay dry.

Breezes will be light and it will be another cold day with highs of not much above 1°C in the day and lows of -2C or lower in rural spots in the night.

Breezes generally light and backing to the NW again.

Further Outlook

Remaining very cold with some harsh night frosts returning and daytime temperatures hovering around 0°C.

Very little snow expected although a light shower or two can't be ruled out under the influence of lower pressure.

But we should see some bright and sunny spells at times, but the risk of more snow showers increases as the week progresses.
