A BRADFORD police officer got off to a quick start in his new job when he stopped an individual for driving while on the phone.
40 minutes into his first shift, the officer pulled the vehicle over on Little Horton Lane.
Following checks, the driver had been refused a provisional driving licence.
The vehicle was seized and the driver was reported for both offences.
A tweet from West Yorkshire Police's Operation Steerside read: "So, our newest officer is out and about on his first full shift.
"40 minutes later, the driver was seen using a mobile phone while driving.
"Checks confirmed they had been refused a provisional driving licence.
"Vehicle seized and driver reported for both offences.
"Little Horton Lane, Bradford East."
