A FILM which was ranked as the best LGBTQ+ film of all time by the British Film Institute will be screened in Bradford tonight.
Bradford Queer Film Club will present Carol, an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's 1952 novel The Price of Salt, at Fuse Arts Space on Rawson Place at 7pm.
The 2015 film is a story of romance between aspiring photographer and department store worker Therese, played by Rooney Mara, and Cate Blanchett as Carol.
Set in 1950s New York, Carol is a story of love against the odds, a haunting visual masterpiece and an ode to the then scandalous story of two women in love.
As well as being nominated for six Oscars, five Golden Globes and nine BAFTAs, Carol has been described as a “game changer for lesbian cinema” as well as a “contemporary Christmas classic”.
Doors open at the event from 7pm and the screening will start at 7.45pm.
