A MAN has been banned for using a mobile phone while driving on a Bradford road.

Mohammed Ali Butt, 39, of Emm Lane, Bradford, faced one charge of using a handheld mobile phone/device while driving a motor vehicle on a road – endorsable offence.

He was caught using a mobile phone while driving on Emm Lane, Bradford, on July 26, 2022.

Butt was disqualified from holding, or obtaining, a driving licence for six months. The disqualification was deemed obligatory by the court due to repeat offending.

He was also fined £220 and ordered to pay £90 costs and an £88 victim surcharge for the offence.

Butt pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on November 25, 2022 in a single justice procedure hearing.
