EVER since it opened in the 1930s, John Street Market was popular with Bradford shoppers. In autumn 1971 it was expanded, with a new frontage comprising shops and a bank.
The old market had a modern look, but the tradition remained of traders calling out to attract customers.
As Bradford awaits completion of a new market on Darley Street, we take a look back at the city’s popular John Street Market.
