A BRADFORD school has said it is not afraid to bar adults from its premises after several recent incidents of parents being aggressive to staff.
Bradford Girls' Grammar School, on Squire Lane, Girlington, said the "inappropriate behaviour" has occurred face-to-face and over the phone.
A newsletter, sent on December 2, from principal Clare Martin said: "As a school, we are keen to work harmoniously with parents/carers in the best interests of their children and to deal with any issues that may arise in a prompt and professional manner.
"Parents have a right to express their concerns, though, at the same time, teachers and pupils must be allowed to work and learn in a safe and secure environment."
It added: "Whilst we enjoy an excellent relationship with most parents, unfortunately, we have had several incidents recently where parents have behaved in an aggressive manner towards staff; either on reception, on the telephone, or face-to-face.
"I wish to make it clear that the school takes instances of inappropriate behaviour very seriously and will not tolerate any circumstances which may make pupils or members of staff feel threatened.
"In line with our policy, a perceived threat, or any action which makes another individual feel threatened, can be enough to bar the adult from the premises."
