EMPLOYEE wellbeing experts Loopin have commented on six “major factors” which could lead to a high staff turnover.
The company highlighted a lack of purpose and little opportunity for growth as reasons why someone may choose to leave a job.
It said that not providing any opportunities for employees to progress can cause them to feel as though their hard work and commitment is not being recognised. A different company that can offer a role of higher authority will eventually become more appealing after a long time in the same role.
Loopin added that offering feedback to employees can go far – it said the purpose is not to provide top-down performance feedback or assess the company’s performance, but to let the employee take centre stage, with employers asking more about their goals, as well as any concerns.
Leaving staff feeling undervalued and unappreciated was also a factor. If employees feel their contributions go unnoticed, they are likely to be unmotivated and may consider seeking a more rewarding job.
A Loopin spokesperson added: “It’s vital that employers consider the reasons for high employee turnover.
“This requires spotting signs at the earliest opportunity and having a true understanding of employee concerns.”
