FIVE fire engines were called to a flat blaze at a high-rise building in West Yorkshire this morning.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 4.15am today (Tuesday) to the flat fire on the third floor of the building at Chantry Waters, Waterside Way, Wakefield.

Six breathing apparatus and one hose reel were used to extinguish the fire.

Appliances from Wakefield, Ossett, Normanton, Dewsbury and an aerial appliance from Leeds attended, along with a fire investigation officer.
