PLANS have been submitted to demolish a Bradford pub to make way for a mechanics and car wash.

It's proposed The Halfway House on Huddersfield Road in Wyke be bulldozed to accommodate a proposed mechanics/vehicle servicing and repair shop. The new site would also feature a storage unit and car wash.

A drawing of what the site will look like has been submitted as part of the plans for the development.

The proposed site includes parking spaces for 16 cars, including one disabled bay.

The hand car wash will have a canopy over the top of it and it will also feature separate entrance and exits for vehicles.

The vehicle repair and servicing section of the proposal will be located in the middle of the site, surrounded by the car park spaces.

Demolition of the pub would make way for the vehicle repair and servicing station section of the development.

A tarmacked area next to the car wash on Huddersfield Road would have capacity for three vehicles at a time.

The pub is currently closed to customers. It re-opened in April 2021 following the initial lifting of Covid restrictions for pubs.

The outline planning application has been submitted to Bradford Council.
