FILMMAKERS from Bradford could be in the running for a funding grant of up to £20,000 as the NHS gets ready to celebrate its 75th birthday.
The Arts and Humanities Research Council – in partnership with the British Film Institute (BFI) – is funding emerging filmmakers in response to the BFI National Archive’s NHS on Film collection on BFI Player.
Grants of up to £20,000 for around three emerging filmmakers are available for them to produce short films that have been inspired by, or that make creative reuse of, films in the NHS on Film collection.
Successful applicants will be expected to engage with diverse communities and public audiences - who have lived experience of the NHS and healthcare system - during the filmmaking process.
The projects will begin in March 2023, with completed films expected by October 31, 2023, for screenings at local venues and potentially BFI Southbank, London, in November.
