THERE is a chance of snow showers in the Bradford district later this week, as a cold weather alert has been issued for England.

Chris Roberts, of Bradford & Bingley Weatherline, brings us the latest of his regular weather forecasts covering from Tuesday, December 6 to Saturday, December 10.

He said: “There is also the chance of a few wintry showers (snow) but I’m not seeing anything significant yet, but that could change next week (maybe).”

  • Tuesday: Max temperature: 5°C, Min 0°C + Chance of snow: 0 per cent.
  • Wednesday: Max: 3°C, Min 0°C + Chance of snow: 20 per cent.
  • Thursday: Max: 2°C, Min -2°C + Chance of snow: 70 per cent.
  • Friday: Max: 0°C, Min -4°C + Chance of snow: 45 per cent.
  • Saturday: Max: 1°C, Min -3°C + Chance of snow: 30 per cent.

Meanwhile, the Met Office has issued a severe cold weather alert for England, as it warned plummeting temperatures later this week could increase health risks to vulnerable people and disrupt deliveries.

The level three, or amber, cold weather alert was issued on Monday morning and warns of severe conditions in England between 6pm on Wednesday and 9am on Monday, December 12.

The alert requires social and healthcare services to take action to protect high-risk groups.
