A MAN has been banned after being caught drink driving on a major Bradford district road.

Michael Sugden, 35, in the care of Lime Street, Little Horton, Bradford, faced one charge of driving a motor vehicle when the alcohol level was above the limit.

He was driving a motor vehicle on Sir Fred Hoyle Way, also known as Bingley Bypass, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 96 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

Sugden was disqualified from holding, or obtaining, a driving for 25 months for the offence.

He was also handed a community order, including 120 hours unpaid work in the community, and ordered to pay £114 and £85 costs. A collection order was made at the sentencing hearing.

Sugden pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on November 28, 2022.
