A TEENAGE boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the stabbing of a teenager in Huddersfield.

Kirklees CID is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the assault on a 16-year-old boy in an alleyway leading from Deighton Road to Riddings Close at about 8.26pm on Wednesday evening.

A 16-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 19-year-old male arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in connection with the offence.

The arrests were made early hours of today (Friday).

The victim suffered a serious injury after being assaulted by a bladed weapon and continues to be treated in hospital.

He is described as being in a stable condition and his injury is not life-threatening.

DCI Marie Bulmer of Kirklees CID, who is leading the investigation, said: “A number of enquiries remain ongoing in what is a fast-moving investigation into what has clearly been a very serious offence.

“We have now made arrests but are very much still appealing for witnesses or information about this attack.
