If you could ask police to target speeding drivers on any road in the Bradford district, where would you choose?

That's the question we put to the Telegraph & Argus' readers following another week of headlines about law-flouting motorists breaking speed limits.

On average, five people a day are killed on the UK’s roads – and speeding is often a contributory factor.

It comes after acting inspector Chris Robinson, of West Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit, warned drivers about the dangers of speeding during a fortnight of increased enforcement action.

“No one wants to receive the knock at the door to say their loved one has been killed,” he said.

Here’s a list of Bradford’s worst roads for speeding, based on readers' experiences as people who regularly drive or walk through the district.

Mark Greenhough said: "Manchester Road and Little Horton Lane."

Charmaine Scaife said: “Leeds Road Thornbury you take your life in your hands crossing the road, they even speed through red lights!”

Xana Brown said: "Thornton Road from Cemetery Road lights to Bell Dean Road anytime between midnight and 4am! Like a race track."

Andy Tubbs Taylor said: “Leeds Road, Idle area after midnight, like a race track up and down! Speed cameras out through day and get people just over 30mph. Night time there flying up and down!”

Marjorie Wood said: “Baildon Road cars come down there at far too fast speeds yet the traffic van is always on Otley Road in the lay by.”

Chris Barrett said: "Baildon Road & Otley Road, after 11pm. Not loads of, but a handful who really go for it."

The Telegraph & Argus has approached West Yorkshire Police for a response.
