POLICE have revealed some of the reasons people have wrongly dialled the 999 emergency line - including one person who said their card was declined by their bank.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the calls to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual calls it receives from the general public.
The force receives 120 inappropriate calls each day.
It is an offence to misuse our emergency line, please remember 101, webchat and our online 'report it' forms are there for a reason 😊https://t.co/NBvpGFmw8j https://t.co/VF6hUeT1tX

In its latest example, the team said: "A few reasons given for misusing our 999 line today: My gas company provide terrible customer service.
"I don't want to wait on 101"
"What is your non-emergency number?
"My card keeps getting declined by the bank"
Previous calls to the police’s contact centre have included someone calling 999 to ask for driving lessons to be booked for them.
