HARROWING pictures have emerged of the damage a lorry sustained following a fire on the M62 this morning.
At around 5am on Tuesday, the M62 was closed westbound between Ainley Top and Rishworth Moor for just over an hour.
It led to a six-mile-long traffic queue through to junction 25 Brighouse.
Images tweeted by National Highways showed the HGV's cabin completely burnt out from the front and side.
West Yorkshire Police and fire crews from Rastrick, Huddersfield, Halifax and Slaithwaite stations were in attendance.
At around 11.20, National Highways added: "All lanes open on the M62 westbound between junction 23 Huddersfield and junction 22 Saddleworth following an earlier vehicle fire and subsequent recovery.
"There are residual delays between J24 and J22 however these will begin to ease."
