A BRADFORD district-born WWE wrestler ended up on the losing team in his first main event match on a major show.

Luke Menzies, otherwise known as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Ridge Holland, competed in a five-on-five double cage match at Survivor Series: War Games on Saturday, November 26.

The Liversedge-born star joined forces with fellow Brawling Brutes squad members Butch and Sheamus, alongside Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens to take on The Bloodline; Undisputed WWE champion Roman Reigns, tag team champions, The Usos, Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa.

The two teams clashed in a match where two rings were pushed together with a huge double cage over the top of them. One man from each team; Butch and Jey Uso, started the match and the remaining competitors entered the match at intervals.

Menzies was the second entered into the match for his team and despite a good showing, he ended up on the losing group as The Bloodline reigned.

Despite the result, it caps off an impressive year of action for Menzies at some of WWE’s major shows.

In January he put in a strong display in the 30-man Royal Rumble match. This was followed by a tag team victory at WrestleMania 38 in April.
