Police discovered more than first expected when they pulled this Toyota driver over in Bradford.
The motorist was seen driving in the University of Bradford area without any lights on at night.
West Yorkshire Police’s city NPT stopped the car and found it was also untaxed.
It was seized on behalf of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
Car lights at night
Drivers should always use their car’s headlights at night.
It is recommended that motorists switch on car headlights half an hour after sunset and half an hour before sunrise.
Drivers must make sure their headlights are dipped in built-up areas or when they are behind or approaching other road users - such as traffic queues, pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders.
The RAC advises drivers to switch to dipped headlights when following another vehicle or driving on left-turning bends.
Full beam headlights are advised for unlit stretches of road at night as they can often be dazzling and may cause accidents.
