POLICE investigating a serious sexual assault report have arrested a man on suspicion of rape.
West Yorkshire Police was called to Hard Ings Road, in Keighley at 7.04pm on Tuesday night to reports a woman had been seriously sexually assaulted.
A police cordon was put in place and was still there yesterday morning, so the area could be forensically examined.
Part of this covered East Avenue Playground, just behind Keighley Retail Park, with an officer spotted within the cordon just before 8.30am yesterday.
The force has now released an update from a spokesperson which said a 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
He remains in police custody at this time.
Bradford's safeguarding team is continuing to investigate the reported serious sexual assault.
The alleged victim was being supported by specially trained officers yesterday, The Telegraph & Argus was told.
A full statement from West Yorkshire Police said: "Police investigating a report of a serious sexual assault on Hard Ings Road in Keighley on November 22 have arrested a man.
"A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody at this time.
"Enquiries remain ongoing by Bradford’s safeguarding team."
