AN INTERNATIONAL organisation is partnering with four community groups in Bradford to encourage more boys and young men in the district to get involved in meaningful social action.
The Global Fund for Children (GFC), in partnership with the #iwill Fund, is launching the Investing in Youth Social Action for Boys in England initiative.
Through the 18-month project, the GFC will engage with boys under the age of 14 from rural or “underserved” communities, aiming to reach 400 to 500 young people in the process.
Boys and young men in the UK are less likely to feel that they have agency in their schools and communities than girls are, and are more likely to say that nothing could encourage them to engage in social action, according to the 2019 National Youth Social Action Survey.
GFC is partnering with four community-based organisations in Bradford. These include BEAP Community Partnership, based in Manningham, and Tasif Khan Boxing Academy.
Also benefiting are West Bowling Youth Initiative and Worth Valley Young Farmers Club.
