A BRADFORD man has been jailed after assaulting a police officer.
Robert Ferguson, 29, of Quebec Street, Bradford, appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court facing three charges dating back to this summer.
He had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to possession of cannabis and Xanax, class B and C drugs respectively.
He had also pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer at Trafalgar House Police Station in Bradford on the same date July 18, 2022.
Ferguson was jailed for 16 weeks for this offence.
He was also convicted of carrying out a further offence while being subject to a suspended sentence order, which added an extra 16 weeks to his sentence.
The overall sentence was therefore 32 weeks.
An order was also made for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
