A BRADFORD district-born star will be part of the main event of one of wrestling’s biggest annual shows this weekend.
Luke Menzies, who competes as Ridge Holland in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), will be part of the showpiece match at the organisation’s biggest event of the year – Survivor Series: War Games.
The Liversedge-born grappler will be teaming up with fellow Brawling Brutes members Sheamus and Butch, alongside Scottish-born former WWE champion Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens in a five-on-five cage match this Saturday.
Menzies’ team will battle The Bloodline, consisting of dominant Undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns, who has held the title for two years. He will be joined in battle by Jimmy and Jey Uso, the WWE tag team champions; Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn.
The two teams will clash in a unique match called War Games, where two rings will be joined together with a steel cage over the top of them as the battle commences. A women’s War Games will also take place at this weekend’s premium live event.

Survivor Series has been a fixture in the WWE calendar since 1987, playing host to many tag team elimination matches over the years and featuring stars of the past including Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart and the Undertaker.
The War Games main event was officially confirmed as the two teams brawled in the ring on last week’s WWE Friday Night Smackdown TV show, with Menzies tweeting: ‘War Ready!’.
It will continue a fine year of in-ring action for Menzies, a former Bradford Bulls youngster, who has taken the WWE by storm. He competed for more than 20 minutes in last January’s men’s 30-man match at the Royal Rumble in January.
He was also on a winning team at WrestleMania 38 in April, alongside his Brawling Brutes team-mates, at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
Menzies, a former rugby league star with clubs including Batley Bulldogs, says he enjoys flying the flag for the Bradford district and Yorkshire in his global role as a wrestler.
His Survivor Series bout is the latest boost to Menzies’ WWE career after making the move to the Friday Night Smackdown TV show late last year.
