A BRADFORD district MP is the latest entrant for the Rotary Club of Haworth & Worth Valley’s first-ever Santa Fun Run next week.
Robbie Moore, Conservative MP for Keighley and Ilkley, was presented with a Santa suit to wear during the ten-lap circuit around Haworth Central Park on Saturday.
Ian Park, the president of the Rotary Club, handed over the suit to Robbie and thanked him for taking part in the event, which aims to raise funds for the club’s Charitable Trust’s Community Grant Scheme.
The Trust ran the initial Community Grant Scheme two years ago when they awarded grants to a number of small organisations which make a big difference to many people in Worth Valley communities.
Now the Rotarians are raising cash so that the Trust can provide similar grants in 2023.
Mr Moore said: “I’m looking forward to it – it looks like it will be really fun.”
Mr Park added: “We’d like to thank Robbie for his interest in our event and hope he has a great time with us.”
Anyone who would like to take part in the run should visit https://wp.haworthrotary.co.uk/santa/
Alternately, people can turn up on the day and take part.
The registration desk opens at 10am and the run starts at 11am.
