A MUCH-loved Christmas market is returning after a two year absence.
Bradford Industrial Museum’s Victorian Christmas Market was one of the city’s most popular festive events, attracting thousands to the Eccleshill Museum.
Concerns over the Covid 19 pandemic and social distancing have meant the market has not been held since 2019.
But it will return on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November, and see the Bradford Council-run museum transformed into a Victorian Christmas wonderland.
Over 80 festive market stalls will be on site, selling food, toys, clothes, jewellery and accessories as well as the chance to pick up arts, crafts and festive gifts.
As in previous years there will also be costumed characters, with the infamous Dickensian miser Ebenezer Scrooge expected to make an appearance.
Youngsters can visit Father Christmas on the specially decorated festive Bradford tram. There will also be face painting, a concert band, Sandy Kidz Sand Art as well as other events running throughout the weekend.
The free event runs from 10am 'til 4pm on both days.
Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said: “The Victorian Christmas Market at Bradford Industrial Museum is always a very popular event and is wonderful for children. There is plenty to see and do and is a great place to pick up early Christmas presents and to get in to the Christmas spirit.”
