A TEENAGE boy has been arrested during a Trojan Bus operation in the wake of attacks on taxis and buses travelling along a main road in Bradford.

Following a spate of incidents of stones being thrown at vehicles on Wakefield Road in recent months, West Yorkshire Police carried out the Trojan Bus operation.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "After a Trojan Bus operation conducted in the Bradford East area earlier this month, a 13-year-old youth was identified and arrested. He has been released under investigation.

"Enquiries remain ongoing by Bradford East NPT."

Taxi drivers had contacted the T&A after a driver had been hit by a stone thrown from the roadside near the Winston Churchill pub.

Drivers also reported that windscreens and other parts of their vehicles had been damaged, resulting in costly repairs.

A number of hackney carriage drivers concerned about stone-throwing incident had planned to go on strike on Nelson Street in October, but that strike action was avoided after last-minute talks were held at City Hall between taxi drivers, Bradford Council bosses, councillors and the police.
