A FLY tipped site in Wyke could soon be fenced off to deter criminals.
The land at Silver Street, off Huddersfield Road, has previously been used for car parking, but is currently covered with fly tipped waste.
When the Telegraph & Argus visited the site on Thursday it was strewn with waste including rubble, wood and a soiled rug.
The site is currently on the market, but a planning application has been submitted to install fencing and a security gate at the land “to stop fly-tipping and littering of the site.”
The application, by Imran Bostan, says the palisade fencing would be “difficult to cut and climb because of the high strength materials.”
A decision on the application is expected in the New Year.
