A Bradford charity is saving leftover paint from landfill and helping cash-strapped families.
RePaint has been remixing old cans of paint from Bradford’s tips and donations into fresh new colours for over 20 years.
It has saved 360,000 litres of paint from going to waste in 2022 so far alone.
Based at the Carlisle Business Centre, RePaint can personally mix paint for families looking for specific colours.
Paint costs £1.80 per litre while discounted wallpaper and gloss is also available.
Chief officer Jen White said: “The aim is to renew, reuse, recycle.
“For an original project like this running so long this really shows the need, especially when people are struggling to feed their families and keep warm. The cost of high street paint is out of some people’s reach."
She added: “We have volunteers who come in everyday and mix the paint. We offer them support in looking for work. We can offer a good reference. We’re always looking for people.”
Leftover paint can be donated to the scheme via the drop off points at Bradford Council’s household waste recycling centres.
