A MAJOR footwear retailer has become the latest name to open a store at a city shopping centre.
Skechers will officially open its doors at The Broadway tomorrow (Friday) and its shelves are piled high with trainers, sports shoes and other leisure clothing.
It sells shoes and trainers for all ages, ranging from infant size four to adult size 14 and has a dedicated kids’ shoes section.
The store does not just sell shoes - also available are items including gym wear, jackets, baseball caps, socks and backpacks.
Shoppers can even take away a free bouncy ball from a machine located inside the store.
Skechers has signed a lease for a 3,500 sq ft unit located in the Eastbrook Mall. The new store will be the first Skechers branch in Bradford and its third store in West Yorkshire.
Ian Ward, general manager at The Broadway, said: “We are delighted that the new Skechers store in The Broadway is opening its doors on Friday, November 18.
“The new store will be the very first Skechers in Bradford and its third store in West Yorkshire.
“Skechers is a welcome addition to the centre whilst importantly, creating 15 new jobs locally.
“At The Broadway, we’re committed to bringing new and exciting retail and leisure experiences to the people in Bradford and the wider district.”
Skechers, The Comfort Technology Company, retails a wide selection of footwear and apparel for men, women, and children. The brand offers casual, athletic and fashion trends as well as sandals and boots.
Skechers is the latest major retail name to sign up for a store at The Broadway.
International sports retailer Lids opened a new store at the centre in September, offering a range of US sports goods.
Jack & Jones, Muffin Break and Ramsdens will create a total of 33 new jobs in the centre when they open before Christmas.
Taking a 2,225 sq ft unit in the Petergate Mall, Jack & Jones will create 10 new jobs.
Muffin Break will create 15 new jobs when it opens in a 1,758 sq ft unit, while Ramsdens will take a 438 sq ft unit and create eight new jobs.
The new Skechers store will be open at The Broadway Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 7pm; Saturday between 9am and 7pm and Sunday from 11am to 5pm.
