REMEMBER the Shipley Glen fairground?
The Prod Lane amusement area, with spinning teacups and other attractions, was popular with young families, especially those who had a enjoyed ride on the nearby Shipley Glen Tramway.
The site had been a pleasure ground since Edwardian times, when the first rides were installed to accompany a tea-shop serving visitors to the Glen.
In 2005 Alan Breeze, who had run the attraction with his wife Wendy for nearly 20 years, announced it would be closing.
The land was later used for housing.
The closure of the fairground followed the end of the old aerial glide at the site, which dated back to the 1930s, which was pulled down in 2004 after English Heritage removed its protected status.
