POLICE have issued a statement after a major crash on a motorway.
The crash happened on the westbound carriageway of the M62 at 5.35am, near junction 25 (Brighouse).
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said emergency services - including Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) - are at the scene.
A woman has been rushed to hospital.
Three (of four lanes) have been closed between junction 26 (M606, Chain Bar) and junction 25, as a result.
This is led to six miles of traffic, queueing back to junction 28 (Tingley).
A full statement from West Yorksire Police said: "Emergency services are at the scene of a road traffic collision on the westbound M62 near to Junction 25.
"The collision took place at around 5:35am this morning.
"A female has been taken to hospital. Lane closures are currently in place."
