A WOMAN who “lives and breathes Bradford” has spoken about her shock at winning a Customer Service award at the 2022 Telegraph and Argus Retail, Leisure and Hospitality awards on Sunday night.
Beth Smith, who works at BrewDog Bradford, on Great Horton Road, won the Customer Service award, sponsored by The Broadway.
“I never expected this and I’m genuinely in shock,” said Beth on awards night.
“I live and breathe Bradford and this award is for Bradford.
“I’m so proud to live in Bradford.
“I put my soul into what I do.
“I’ve been in hospitality for a year and it was definitely a good move for me.
When she was nominated for the award Beth said she strives to make everyone feel like they are at home when they walk into the bar.
She said: “Our guests deserve a phenomenal experience and memories that stick with them for a lifetime.
“When they walk in, I don’t see them as customers or even guests; they’re future friends.
“If you treat everyone this way, not only are you a happier person but you get to develop lasting relationships with the side effect on the business of having more returning guests, more revenue and a better reputation due to a more enjoyable experience for guests.
“I’m quite new to hospitality but I feel it’s my calling, I couldn’t love it more!”
In the criteria for the award, judges were asking for a team or person who goes above and beyond to offer fantastic customer service.
The judges were looking for clear evidence of customer service excellence.
In the nomination process businesses were allowed to include reviews, feedback, testimonials or any other evidence of the types of activity that puts a smile on customers’ faces.
Located just a short walk from the City Hall, situated next to the Alhambra Theatre, BrewDog Bradford opened on Great Horton Road in November 2021.
The bar opened in former home of Brew Haus.
James Douglas, co-Founder, Red’s True Barbecue X BrewDog said: “The idea to open BrewDog Bradford began nearly three years ago and despite the wait, we’re as excited now as were then about what an amazing bar like this can offer the great City of Bradford.”
With 28 lines of craft beer alongside a smokehouse sensation food menu courtesy of Reds True BBQ, with two shuffleboards the bar brought a brand new concept to the area.
