A MAN has been jailed after he stole two hats from JD Sports in Bradford.
Peter Vant, of Cross Lane in Great Horton, committed the offence, contrary to section 1(1) and 7 of the Theft Act 1968, at The Broadway Shopping Centre on July 2.
The hats from the sports retailer, which also has a Bradford store in Foster Square, were worth a combined value of £44.
The 42-year-old was handed four weeks in prison, which will run concurrently with other offences, meaning his total sentence is 12 months.
Court documents say the theft of the hats was so serious because of flagrant disregard for court orders and previous convictions.
The case was heard at Bradford Magistrates earlier this month on Wednesday, November 9.
